Remote Risk Adjustment Medical Coder

Overview

The Remote Risk Adjustment Coder must be proficient in ICD10CM Risk Adjustment coding as well as Evaluation & Management & Annual Wellness Visit Coding. The coder will review clinical documentation and apply appropriate codes for billing and compliance.

• Proficient in ICD-10-CM and CPT coding
• Review clinical documentation for coding accuracy
• Maintain 95% accuracy in coding
• Work with coding and billing teams for efficiency
• Respond to coding questions from physicians/hospitals
• Must maintain professional credentials
• Knowledge of federal and state coding regulations required
• 3+ years of HCC Risk Adjustment Coding experience
• Strong communication and organizational skills

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 3+ years HCC Risk Adjustment Coding experience
• CPC or CRC certification from AAPC
• EMR experience
• Strong knowledge of coding regulations
• Ability to work independently and multi-task
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Basic knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Experience with CMS coding methodologies preferred
• Maintain HIPAA compliance
