Certified Medical Coder - Medicare Risk Adjustment Mentor - Remote

Overview

The MyCare Medical Group is looking for a Certified Medical Coder for a Medicare Risk Adjustment/HCC coding position to join our team, who is passionate about growing as a professional and moving the healthcare industry toward value-based care. Must have a minimum of at least 2 years of verifiable HCC coding experience. Experience with providing coding education to providers is preferred. The position is remote, but the MRA Mentor will go onsite on a need basis to provide education. Candidates must live within the states of Florida or Texas.

In Short

• Complete a sample audit of progress notes and provide feedback to physicians.
• Identify and document encounter coding information.
• Experience with prospective and retrospective HCC coding.
• Ensure accuracy and appropriateness of diagnosis codes.
• Review medical records for appropriate coding.
• Complete documentation regarding claim information.
• Provide education and training to providers on documentation quality.
• Monitor coding changes for current information.
• Demonstrate analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Requirements

• 2-3 years of HCC Medical Coding Experience (Required).
• 2 years as a certified medical coder with quality and productivity goals.
• Coding certification through AHIMA / AAPC is required.
• Excel experience required.
• Minimum of GED or High School Diploma.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Technically savvy.
• High-speed internet available at home.
