Overview

The Medical Coder Risk Adjustment at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska is responsible for conducting retrospective medical record reviews and validating diagnosis codes to ensure accurate coding.

In Short

• Conduct retrospective medical record reviews.
• Validate ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes.
• Ensure accurate and complete coding for HCC Risk Adjustment.

• Possess a current CPC or AHIMA CCS credential.
• 2+ years of experience in medical record review.
• Learn and adapt to coding standards and requirements.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Current CPC or AHIMA CCS credential required.
• CRC Certification training within 6 months of hire.
• 2+ years recent experience in medical record review.
• Experience with Medicare and/or Commercial risk adjustment process.
• Understanding of electronic medical & health records.
• Associate degree preferred.
