Risk Adjustment Coder - Remote

Become a part of our caring community and help us put health first. The Risk Adjustment Coder conducts quality assurance coding of medical records and ICD-10 diagnosis codes that are submitted to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and other government agencies.

In Short

• Conduct quality assurance coding of medical records.
• Ensure coding is accurate and supported by clinical documentation.
• Follow state and federal regulations and internal policies.
• Work independently with little oversight.
• Participate in special projects and daily responsibilities.
• Must have at least one relevant certification from AAPC or AHIMA.
• Work 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday.
• Complete 3 weeks of virtual classroom training.
• Must have good working knowledge of computers.
• Occasional travel to Humana's offices may be required.

Requirements

• One certification from AAPC or AHIMA is required.
• Ability to work in a goal-oriented environment.
• Must maintain annual continuing education requirements.
• Risk adjustment or coding experience preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office systems.
