Manager of Payroll - Remote

Overview

The Manager of Payroll is responsible for all elements of timely preparation and accurate processing of bi-weekly payroll. This role implements payroll initiatives and projects which requires strong technical and communication skills and the ability to manage tasks to meet Upstream’s standards and deadlines.

• Manage the payroll process for all associates.
• Ensure timely and accurate payroll processing.
• Analyze and input payroll data.
• Review payroll tax reports and W2s.
• Coordinate with payroll vendor for system issues.
• Ensure compliance with payroll regulations.
• Drive process improvement and automation efforts.
• Oversee day-to-day operations of the payroll team.
• Coordinate training for new payroll associates.
• Implement new payroll regulations and policies.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience in multi-state payrolls.
• Strong attention to detail and organization skills.
• Advanced computer skills including web-based products.
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
• Experience with employment tax administration.
• Ability to accommodate changing situations.
• Teamwork and independent working capabilities.
