Outpatient Coder - Remote

Overview

The Outpatient Coder is responsible for coding hospital Emergency Department and ancillary visit records to ensure appropriate reimbursement and compliance with regulations.

In Short

• Codes outpatient visit records for reimbursement and compliance.
• Monitors daily work to facilitate billing processes.
• Maintains coding accuracy and productivity rates.
• Communicates with hospital departments regarding billing issues.
• Follows ethical coding standards and guidelines.

Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Formal ICD-10-CM and CPT training required.
• Outpatient coding experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
• Certification in coding (e.g., CCS, RHIT, RHIA, CPC).
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to prioritize workloads and meet deadlines.
