  • Utilizes technical coding expertise for ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 coding.
  • Reviews medical records to ensure accurate diagnoses and procedures.
  • Interprets health documentation using knowledge of anatomy and disease processes.
  • Meets established coding productivity and quality standards.
  • Resolves NCCI Edits with approved modifiers.
  • Utilizes 3M Encoder resources for optimal coding accuracy.
  • Articulates rationale for coding selections as needed.
  • Participates in software testing and identifies enhancement opportunities.
  • Maintains compliance with AHIMA credentialing requirements.
  • Contributes to a patient-first approach in a healthcare setting.

Requirements

  • Credentialed by AHIMA with CE requirements.
  • 3-4 years of coding experience in an acute healthcare setting.
  • RHIT, RHIA or CCS credentialed.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (preferred).
  • 4 years of coding experience in an acute healthcare setting (preferred).
