Patient Representative - Remote

Overview

The Patient Representative works under general supervision counseling patients on their financial status and obligation, identifying and referring them to appropriate sponsoring agencies.

• Work under general supervision in a healthcare setting.
• Counsel patients on financial status and obligations.
• Identify and refer patients to appropriate agencies.
• Process high-risk pre-certifications.
• Develop and implement denial avoidance plans.
• Produce reports on revenue cycle functions.
• Demonstrate competency in job elements of Access Coordinator positions.
• Perform other duties as needed.
• Requires proficiency in medical terminology.
• Full-time position with day shift hours.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED with 4 years of relevant experience or an Associate degree with 2 years of experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology required.
• Intermediate proficiency with computers (MS Office Suite preferred).
• Strong keyboard and telephone etiquette skills.
• General knowledge of office machines.
• Experience with EPIC system preferred.
• Call center experience is a plus.
• CHAA certification preferred.
• Proof of legal authority to work in the USA required.
