Patient Representative - Outpatient Therapy - Remote

Overview

The Patient Representative works under general supervision to counsel patients on their financial status and obligations, ensuring proper scheduling and processing of outpatient therapy referrals.

In Short

• Counsel patients on financial information related to healthcare services.
• Conduct insurance verification and benefit explanations.
• Schedule New Patient appointments for Outpatient Therapy referrals.
• Process high-risk pre-certifications and develop denial avoidance plans.
• Produce reports on revenue cycle functions.
• Demonstrate competency in Access Coordinator job elements.
• Collect and post payments, issue receipts, and manage change funds.
• Monitor patient balances and provide pre-counseling on payment expectations.
• Perform various maintenance reports related to patient registration.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or Associate degree with two years of relevant experience.
• High School Diploma/GED with four years of relevant experience.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
• Computer skills and general knowledge of office machines.
• CHAA certification preferred.
