Overview

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for producing nuclear medicine and PET/CT images for medical interpretation, administering therapeutic radioactive isotopes, and ensuring image quality.

In Short

  • Produces nuclear medicine and PET/CT images.
  • Administers radioactive isotopes to patients.
  • Follows procedure protocols and relays instructions to patients.
  • Acquires and processes images for medical interpretation.
  • Reviews images for accuracy and performs equipment QA.
  • Maintains workflow in the Nuclear Medicine and PET departments.
  • Communicates effectively with patients and healthcare team.
  • Prepares patients for procedures by establishing IV access.
  • Performs other duties as required.
  • Works during day shifts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and graduate of an approved Nuclear Medicine program.
  • Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (ARRT and/or NMTCB).
  • Must obtain an Arkansas Radiologic Technologist License before the start date.
  • Advanced Certification must be obtained within 12 months from the date of hire.
  • Preferred: More than three years of Nuclear Medicine experience.
