Overview

The Per Diem Nuclear Medicine Technologist will handle and administer radiopharmaceuticals, operate imaging equipment, and ensure patient care under established procedures at The Brigham and Women's Hospital.

In Short

  • Handle and administer radiopharmaceuticals.
  • Operate SPECT, SPECT/CT, and PET/CT imaging equipment.
  • Perform quality control on imaging equipment.
  • Calibrate and verify operation of equipment.
  • Explain procedures to patients while maintaining ethical standards.
  • Complete necessary paperwork and patient records.
  • Supervise and teach Nuclear Medicine Technology students.
  • Participate in research studies and quality improvement projects.
  • Flexible in shift coverage and on-call responsibilities.
  • Maintain effective communication with hospital personnel.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved school of Nuclear Medicine Technology.
  • Valid Massachusetts license as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
  • Registered or eligible for certification by ARRT-N or NMTCB.
  • Diagnostic CT certification required within one year of hire.
  • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills.
  • Ability to adapt to frequent interruptions and patient emergencies.
  • Positive attitude and professional appearance.
  • Physically capable of lifting patients and operating equipment.
  • Understanding of safety standards in the department.
