Overview

Sentara is currently hiring a Nuclear Medicine Technologist. This is a Flexi position with rotating shift hours, located in Norfolk, VA. The role involves performing and analyzing all diagnostic Nuclear Medicine Procedures in an ambulatory setting while ensuring quality control and patient safety.

In Short

  • Conducts general Nuclear Medicine imaging of patients.
  • Positions patients for demonstration of correct anatomy/pathology.
  • Competent in preparation, dose management, and administration of radiopharmaceuticals.
  • Operates radiation-producing equipment and electronic radiology systems.
  • Provides patient and family education and maintains adequate supply inventory.
  • Explains examination procedures and discharge instructions to patients.
  • Complies with quality control and assurance standards.
  • Intravenous (IV) competency required.
  • New graduates are welcome to apply.
  • Located at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

Requirements

  • Trade school certificate in radiologic sciences.
  • Nuclear Medicine Certification/Licensure ARRT required.
  • Experience is not required; new grads welcome.
