Overview

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist II performs clinical and research diagnostic and therapeutic molecular imaging protocols, ensuring patient safety and quality care while working in a team-oriented environment.

In Short

  • Perform SPECT/PET exams and Computed Tomography as ordered.
  • Ensure adherence to radiation safety techniques.
  • Communicate with providers for diagnostic exam adjustments.
  • Prepare and quality control radiopharmaceuticals.
  • Calculate patient dosages based on established guidelines.
  • Process and archive patient images and data.
  • Participate in the training of new hires and students.
  • Stay updated on developments in nuclear medicine.
  • Comply with institutional guidelines for patient care.
  • Flexible in shift coverage and on-call responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in medical imaging required, Bachelor's preferred.
  • State licensure as a Radiologic Technologist (Nuclear Medicine) required.
  • ARRT or NMTCB certification (NM) required.
  • ARRT or NMTCB certification (CT) within 1 year.
  • BLS certification preferred.
