Overview

As a Technical Designer at Doka Canada, you will be responsible for producing AutoCAD/Revit drawings and material lists representing the appropriate use of Doka concrete formwork equipment for clients. You will provide technical assistance to the sales service from the preliminary phase of a project until its completion.

In Short

  • Create drawings: Collaborate with the sales team to produce AutoCAD/Revit drawings during the proposal stage and finalize working drawings for site use.
  • Provide material lists: Generate material lists for quotes and shipments to job sites.
  • Ensure correct equipment use: Ensure drawings reflect safe, economical, and efficient use of Doka formwork equipment.
  • Conduct design analyses: Perform design/price analyses based on your level of experience and education.
  • Ensure compliance: Ensure designs consider available inventory and adhere to contractual guidelines.
  • Mentorship: Act as a mentor for an assigned Junior Technical Designer, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Participate in site visits: Identify and proactively resolve implementation issues during site visits.
  • Support company initiatives: Participate in committees and teams to share expertise and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (civil, construction, structural) and/or equivalent technical training.
  • 3 to 5 years of professional experience in concrete formwork, shoring applications, and design.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and French.
  • Experience with AutoCAD (mandatory) and project software applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience with Revit is considered an asset.
  • Qualitative skills, including strong analytical ability, technical mastery, and effective problem-solving skills.
  • Organized team player, able to work in a dynamic, deadline-oriented, multicultural environment.
