The Consumer Real Estate Post Close Insurance Specialist plays a crucial role in managing the insurance needs of member-owners, ensuring compliance and accuracy in real estate transactions, and safeguarding the Credit Union against potential losses.

In Short

  • Track and maintain collateral protection insurance for real estate loans.
  • Manage insurance loss claims and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Review documents related to real estate transactions for accuracy.
  • Serve as a point of contact for members and staff regarding home equity loans.
  • Ensure proper closing of home equity loans and documentation sent to counties.
  • Monitor force placed insurance policies and flood insurance escrow disbursements.
  • Provide updates and reports on insurance claims and loan exceptions.
  • Maintain professional relationships with internal staff, members, and third parties.
  • Cross-train to perform additional roles as needed.
  • Assist with other tasks as assigned by leadership.

Requirements

  • 3 years of home equity processing or servicing experience.
  • 3 years of insurance servicing preferred.
  • Understanding of real estate lending regulations and compliance.
  • Strong judgment and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with loan origination software.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong commitment to member service.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Flexibility to adjust priorities as needed.
