As a Principal Data Engineer at Trella Health, you will lead the effort to enhance our data platform while providing mentorship and collaborating across teams.

In Short

Lead the implementation of a production-grade data lake.
Drive vendor evaluation and adoption of data platform tools.
Establish SLAs for data processing and availability.
Create operational accountability frameworks for data pipelines.
Mentor existing team members.
Maintain legacy pipelines while transitioning to new systems.
Guide architectural decisions for scalability and compliance.
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms and data services.
Experience with multi-tenant system architecture.
Knowledge of data security and governance.

Requirements

8+ years of engineering experience with 3+ years in technical leadership.
Core competencies in Python, Advanced SQL, and big data technologies.
Experience with Enterprise Data Platforms in regulated environments.
Understanding of Lambda vs Kappa Architecture patterns.
Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and IAC tools.
Prior experience working with PHI/PII.
Knowledge of HIPAA, SOC2, and HITRUST compliance.
Healthcare interoperability standards experience preferred.
Experience in audited environments is a plus.
