Overview

The Litigation Specialist is responsible for investigating, evaluating, reserving, negotiating, and resolving Specialty Liability related Bodily Injury and Property Damage claims, ensuring compliance with quality standards and regulations.

  • Handle assigned claims with a focus on quality customer service.
  • Investigate claims through contact with relevant parties.
  • Maintain claim files and document activities according to procedures.
  • Negotiate claim settlements with insureds and claimants.
  • Manage litigated claims and develop litigation plans.
  • Provide mentoring and coaching to less experienced professionals.
  • Evaluate claims for recovery potential and manage expenses.
  • Attend legal proceedings as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external standards.
  • Actively engage in creative resolution strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • 5 years of business experience preferred.
  • Strong negotiation and customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of the litigation process and insurance products.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to make independent decisions on claims.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 2 years of liability claim handling experience required.
  • Insurance License(s) may be required.
  • Strong technology aptitude.
