Policy Coordinator - Remote

Overview

The Policy Coordinator will be a key member of the growing Policy Team, which is part of TLC’s Policy and Programs Department. This role involves collaborating with external partners and TLC’s Legal, Communications, and Programs Teams. The Policy Coordinator will support a community-driven policy strategy, focusing on Black trans women and femmes, disability justice, trans and nonbinary people living with HIV, trans and nonbinary migrants, youth, and communities in the South and Midwest.

In Short

• Track and monitor proposed state and federal legislation.
• Review tracked legislation and create summaries.
• Analyze data for trends and provide updates.
• Monitor implementation and impacts of legislation.
• Make recommendations for advocacy strategies.
• Prepare policy-related resources and tools.
• Collaborate with other organizations.
• Attend partner and coalition meetings.
• Travel for strategy and advocacy efforts.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 3 to 5 years of experience in policy analysis.
• Familiarity with issues impacting transgender and nonbinary people.
• Knowledge of legislative processes.
• Collaborative approach to work.
• Commitment to social, racial, and economic justice.
• Strong writing, editing, and research skills.
• Experience with databases.
• Willingness for national travel.
