Overview

The FI Compliance Manager leads the institution’s FI Compliance framework to ensure adherence to all regulatory and legal requirements. This role involves overseeing counterparty risk, downstream risk, anti-money laundering (AML), and governance frameworks while fostering a culture of ethical decision-making and operational integrity.

In Short

  • Develop, implement, and manage the organisation’s compliance strategy.
  • Ensure policies and procedures comply with local, regional, and international regulations.
  • Act as the primary liaison with regulatory authorities and manage audits, inspections, and inquiries.
  • Assess and monitor financial, reputational, and legal risks associated with counterparties.
  • Establish robust due diligence processes to evaluate counterparty risk profiles.
  • Analyse and address risks arising from third-party relationships.
  • Design and implement AML and CTF policies, controls, and procedures.
  • Create and enforce compliance policies and risk management protocols.
  • Oversee reporting mechanisms to identify and resolve compliance issues.
  • Report directly to the board of directors on compliance status and risks.

Requirements

  • Experience in compliance management, particularly in financial institutions.
  • Strong understanding of AML, CTF, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proven ability to manage risk and compliance frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and training skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in developing compliance policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of emerging regulatory trends.
  • Ability to report and present compliance issues to senior management.
  • Relevant certifications in compliance or risk management are a plus.
