Field Service and Automation Engineer - Remote

Overview

We are seeking a Field Service and Automation Engineer with expertise in automation and PLC programming to support our advanced food sorting and peeling machines. This role will be based in India, but requires significant travel across the APAC region, working closely with regional and global teams to implement and maintain cutting-edge automation solutions for customers.

In Short

• Implement and maintain TOMRA automation solutions for customers in India and the APAC region.
• Provide expertise in PLC programming, troubleshooting and system integration.
• Offer technical support to resolve complex automation issues and ensure high system uptime.
• Build and maintain professional relationships with customers and vendors.
• Support the installation, commissioning, and integration of automation systems at customer sites.
• Contribute to the development of TOMRA Food's automation systems.
• Train customers and team members on TOMRA Food systems and solutions.
• Promote a safety-first culture within TOMRA Food.
• Accurately document work, timekeeping, and expense records.
• Foster effective communication and support the organisation’s vision and values.

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Automation, Electrical or a related field.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in automation and PLC programming.
• Strong knowledge of electrical control systems and software troubleshooting.
• Experience with food sorting and peeling machines is a plus.
• Proficiency in English and Hindi.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
• Willingness to travel extensively across APAC (up to 70% of the role).
• Valid passport is mandatory.
