Staff Tax Accountant - Remote

Overview

The Staff Tax Accountant is responsible for assisting with gathering data for the company’s sales tax filings, preparing monthly personal property tax accruals, and completing monthly tax reconciliations, as well as assisting with ad hoc projects and audit requests. The role also requires additional administrative tasks to support the tax team.

In Short

• Responsible for gathering all documentation for sales tax collected from various sources for all practices
• Compile monthly sales and use tax data to be used for sales tax filings
• Track personal property tax bills received
• Calculate and prepare monthly journal entry for personal property tax accrual
• Complete monthly account reconciliations for Sales and Use Tax Payable and Personal Property Tax Payable
• Complete ad hoc projects and analysis as assigned
• Support the Tax Director with taxing authorities’ audit requests
• Manage tax email inbox and direct emails to appropriate team members

Requirements

• Proficient in Excel
• Detail Oriented
• Accounting/Sales Tax experience a plus
