Lead Database Engineer - Remote

Overview

We are seeking a Lead Database Engineer who excels at mentoring and team collaboration. In this role, you'll inspire and guide a team of database professionals, cultivating a collaborative environment that values innovation and continuous improvement.

In Short

• Lead a team of Database engineers in designing, implementing, and maintaining high-availability database systems.
• Foster a culture of innovation and continuous learning.
• Participate in project planning and sprint ceremonies in an Agile environment.
• Provide technical guidance and support to other technology teams.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA security policies.
• Automate system maintenance tasks using Bash, Python, or Ansible.
• Manage infrastructure as code (IaC) with Ansible and Terraform.
• Experience with ETL pipelines using Python is a plus.
• Maintain PostgreSQL ecosystem components.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Requirements

• BS degree in Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of Engineering experience with Database Engineering, Systems Engineering, DevOps, and/or SRE.
• 3+ years of experience leading and mentoring a team of engineers.
• Experience in cloud-based compute, storage, and containerization solutions preferred.
• Expert with Agile methodology, DevOps, Scrum, ITSM, and/or ITIL principles.
• Proficiency with operating PostgreSQL in a Linux environment is a plus.
