Student Access & Wellness Counselor - Remote

Overview

The Student Access and Wellness Counselor is responsible for coordinating and implementing student disability accommodations and providing counseling and support to ensure a positive student experience.

In Short

• Full-time position reporting to the Student Access and Wellness Manager.
• Coordinate disability accommodations and initiatives.
• Manage a caseload of students with disabilities.
• Provide counseling and support services to students.
• Monitor student records and interpret disability documentation.
• Act as a liaison to internal and external departments.
• Empower students to fully participate in educational programs.
• Explain assistive technology and resources available to students.
• Communicate ideas for policy and procedural improvements.
• Provide wellness services related to student wellbeing.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience.
• Understanding of issues relevant to persons with disabilities.
• Ability to establish strong relationships through empathetic counseling.
• Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments/projects.
• Commitment to the organization's core values.
• Experience in student services or related field preferred.
• Ability to interact with a diverse population of students.
• Proven record of driving results and improving processes.
