Overview

The Outreach Manager on the ASPCA’s Government Relations team has the opportunity to see their passion for animal protection translate into impact in state legislatures and in Congress to directly support ASPCA’s mission of improving outcomes and protections for animals.

In Short

• Lead grassroots cultivation and outreach efforts.
• Develop strategic outreach campaign plans.
• Manage volunteer programs and events.
• Track outreach and relationships in databases.
• Create advocacy training materials.
• Engage with diverse stakeholders and legislators.
• Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Participate in team meetings and provide updates.
• Travel up to 40% of the time as needed.
• Commit to animal protection and legislative advocacy.

Requirements

• High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 1 year of experience in community outreach, campaigning, or legislative work.
• Experience managing volunteers and planning events preferred.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Passion for animal welfare strongly preferred.
• Ability to travel as needed.
• Foundational understanding of legislative processes.
• Diplomatic and tactful communication skills.
