Overview

The Data Platform Engineer role is part of the Managed Services function within the Data & AI practice at Telefónica Tech, focusing on delivering and supporting enterprise data platforms for clients.

In Short

• Act as a senior escalation point for complex incidents and service requests.
• Influence the architecture of solutions with a focus on supportability.
• Manage data administration and ensure compliance of supported solutions.
• Create and maintain Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity plans.
• Document technical knowledge and manage small development projects.
• Define and shape continuous improvement initiatives.
• Mentor other team members in the Managed Services team.
• Work collaboratively with clients and internal teams.
• Occasional work outside normal hours, with remote options available.
• Strong interpersonal skills required for client communication.

Requirements

• Experience with modern data platform technology, especially Microsoft Tech Stack.
• Demonstrable experience with SQL Server, Databricks, Azure Data Factory, and Power BI.
• Strong SQL querying skills.
• Proactive and organized in a customer-facing environment.
• Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with programming languages like SQL, Python, C#, and Powershell.
• Willingness to learn and share new technologies.
• Experience in technical training or mentoring.
