UI/UX Subject Matter Expert (SME) - Remote

Overview

T-Rex Solutions is seeking a highly experienced UI/UX SME to lead the user experience and interface design efforts for a large-scale enterprise Case Management System (CMS) modernization initiative supporting our DOD customer. This CMS, deployed on Amazon Web Services (AWS), will replace a mission-critical legacy system currently in use. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in user-centered design, federal digital standards (e.g., Section 508, U.S. Web Design System - USWDS), and experience building accessible, scalable, and intuitive interfaces within secure cloud environments.

In Short

• Lead UI/UX design for a large-scale CMS modernization initiative.
• Design user experiences including flow and UI elements.
• Conduct user requirements gathering sessions.
• Participate in user research and usability testing.
• Create wireframes, prototypes, and mockups.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Ensure compliance with federal standards.
• Provide guidance on interaction design and information architecture.
• Document reusable UI components.
• Support deployment and testing phases on AWS.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Product Design or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in UI/UX design.
• Experience in federal government IT environments.
• Proficiency in design tools like Figma and Adobe XD.
• Knowledge of Section 508 compliance.
• Familiarity with USWDS and design methodologies.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Strong understanding of AWS cloud architecture.
• US citizenship required.
• Ability to obtain a Tier 1 DoD security clearance.
