Overview

The Buyer position at Syntegon involves managing procurement tasks related to machine and parts procurement, ensuring supplier performance, and conducting analyses for cost and quality improvements.

• Responsible for purchasing related to machine and parts procurement.
• Conducts analysis on procurement solutions for cost, quality, and delivery improvements.
• Issues Purchase Orders to suppliers based on requirements.
• Manages procurement tasks including order acknowledgements and updating systems.
• Tracks supplier performance and manages quality defect issues.
• Collaborates on cost-saving initiatives with local suppliers.
• Works with minimal supervision on procurement projects.
• Negotiates with suppliers for pricing and performance improvements.
• Utilizes advanced Excel skills for procurement tasks.
• Ensures a flexible work schedule with 3 days remote and 2 days in-office.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or equivalent experience.
• 3 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read technical drawings.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Knowledge of production inputs and quality control techniques.
• Experience with SAP preferred.
• Ability to think strategically for improved procurement planning.
• Strong negotiation skills with suppliers.
