Field Service Engineer - Remote

Overview

A new opportunity has arisen at Syntegon for a dual skilled Field Service Engineer for the food packaging division, specialising in Secondary Packaging.

In Short

• Install, commission, and maintain Syntegon Secondary Packaging equipment.
• Travel globally (approximately 80% of the time).
• Carry out routine maintenance and planned servicing.
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical, mechanical, and software issues.
• Provide customer training on equipment operation and maintenance.
• Respond to breakdowns and short-notice call-outs.
• Produce detailed reports following site visits.
• Support product trials and identify opportunities for upgrades.
• Maintain up-to-date product knowledge.
• Support the manufacturing facility in Bristol when required.

Requirements

• Qualifications in Mechatronics, mechanical or electrical engineering.
• Good understanding of modern and older control systems.
• Ability to work under own initiative.
• Understanding of mechanical fitting methods.
• Experience with high-speed packaging machinery.
• Ability to fault find within software, preferably Allen Bradley.
• Commercial awareness and customer service skills.
• Ability to prioritize work to challenging deadlines.
• Good communication skills.
• Full driving license.
• Experience in a previous field service role is desirable.
• Exposure to FMCG manufacturing industry is advantageous.
