Software Engineer - Storage (APAC) - Remote

Overview

Supabase Storage is a scalable and high performance object storage service and is one of our fastest growing services. The current landscape of tools for uploading, storing, processing and delivering assets is complicated. Developers are forced to think about regions, caching, codecs and security before they can start uploading anything.

In Short

• Improve analytics bucket offering and storage of open file formats.
• Optimize asset delivery for websites and mobile applications.
• Build out edge network to speed up uploads.
• Enhance performance, observability, and reliability of storage server.
• Collaborate with frontend team to create a powerful storage explorer.
• Improve APIs, client libraries, and CLI for user experience.
• Resolve escalated support issues and systemic platform issues.

Requirements

• ≥5 years backend engineering experience with TypeScript and Node.js.
• Solid knowledge of cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with observability tools (OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana).
• Experience designing large file upload/download pipelines.
• Knowledge of CDN integration and optimization.
• Production-grade PostgreSQL usage.
• Experience debugging across distributed systems.
• Comfortable with backend development and infrastructure work.
• Experience with image and video processing tools is a plus.
• Ownership mentality and empathy towards developer experience.
