Overview

We are looking for Backend Engineers to join our Advertising Product & Technology organization to work on the core backend and data systems that match ads to Spotify users, enhancing user experience and advertiser outcomes.

• Design and develop scalable backend systems and APIs using Java services.
• Collaborate with Data Scientists and Data Engineers to build and maintain complex data pipelines.
• Develop expertise in testing practices, including TDD and integration testing.
• Ensure high-quality code through automated testing and continuous integration.
• Lead high-performance Java service development for millions of users.
• Partner with Data Scientists and User Researchers to inform product decisions.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience as a Backend Engineer.
• Proficient in Java, with a desire to learn other languages like Scala.
• Strong advocate for code quality, testing, and automation.
• Experience with distributed systems and high-volume services.
• Familiarity with APIs and agile methodologies.
• Knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and software engineering principles.
• Collaborative attitude with a desire to make a difference.
