Overview

The Legal Advisor (LEGAD) plays an essential role in NATO exercises, providing subject matter expertise in strategic legal issues and ensuring realistic representation of national legal frameworks.

In Short

• Provide subject matter expertise in strategic legal issues.
• Ensure realistic national legal framework exposure for training audiences.
• Act as focal point for strategic legal matters during exercises.
• Coordinate legal matters with political and military representatives.
• Support issues around protection of civilians and international humanitarian law.
• Review and fix MoUs and Technical Agreements.
• Advise on specific legal issues as needed.
• Work on NATO operational level exercise planning and execution.

Requirements

• 3 years’ experience in influencing national policy making in International Law.
• 3 years’ experience briefing senior leaders in a National or Multinational environment.
• 3 years’ experience in NATO Operational level exercise planning and execution.
• A Master’s Degree in International Law.
• Fluency in Business English.
