Payments Risk & Underwriting Analyst II - Remote

Overview

Shopmonkey is seeking an experienced Payments Risk and Underwriting Analyst II to join our team. The analyst will play a critical role in delivering a great experience for our customers while protecting Shopmonkey from financial losses associated with payment processing activities. This role will specialize in persona approvals and dispute communication, conduct credit analysis on prospective and existing users, monitor merchant accounts, and review daily reports to identify potential fraud or credit risk situations.

In Short

• Review incoming chargebacks and assist merchants with rebuttals.
• Handle customer disputes with clarity and empathy.
• Communicate dispute outcomes to customers and stakeholders.
• Monitor merchant accounts for fraudulent activities.
• Conduct investigations into accounts with fraud risk.
• Prepare reports for senior management on key risk indicators.
• Engage with merchants to collect negative balances.
• Collaborate with Customer Support and Legal teams.
• Maintain templates for dispute communications.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in payments risk management.
• Strong empathy and negotiation skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong time management skills.
• Understanding of KYC requirements.
• Familiarity with various online payment methods.
• Experience with Stripe’s Connect platform is a plus.
• Ability to interact directly with merchants.
• Decisive and open to continual learning.
• Track record of handling escalated situations.
• Knowledge of B2C and B2B payments.
