Site Reliability Engineering Manager - Remote

Overview

As the SRE Manager at Shippo, you will lead a team of engineers responsible for building platforms, tooling, and infrastructure that enable product teams to operate reliable, performant, and scalable services.

• Lead and develop a team of platform-focused SRE engineers.
• Build and maintain internal platforms and tooling for product teams.
• Manage observability platforms for service visibility.
• Own the infrastructure and Kubernetes platform.
• Establish frameworks and tooling for reliability measurement.
• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
• Create automation to eliminate toil and prevent issues.
• Drive infrastructure cost optimization initiatives.
• Manage the SRE team’s on-call rotation.
• Partner with Engineering Managers to prioritize platform investments.

Requirements

• 3+ years of engineering management experience.
• 9+ years as a software or systems engineer.
• BS or MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• Expert-level experience with internal platform-as-a-product.
• Strong operational experience with Kubernetes.
• Deep expertise with public cloud providers (AWS, GCP).
• Experience with CI/CD systems and deployment automation.
• Strong background in infrastructure-as-code tools.
• Experience with observability platforms.
• Proficiency in a programming language for automation.
