Staff System Engineer - Remote

Overview

The Staff System Engineer will work closely with the Global ServiceNow Team to deliver operational support to EU customers, leveraging extensive experience in Linux environments and expertise in performance tuning, cloud infrastructure, and scripting.

• Develop tools in Python, Bash, and/or JavaScript.
• Drive enhancements and bug fixes for automation projects.
• Design and implement maintenance procedures.
• Prepare ServiceNow products for production readiness.
• Proactively prevent and address incidents.
• Troubleshoot database backup and restore failures.
• Support a variety of infrastructure services.
• Participate in escalations and Root Cause Analysis.
• Collaborate effectively in a team environment.
• Work on-call if required.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience with Linux-based systems.
• Experience with relational databases like MariaDB, Oracle, or PostgreSQL.
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
• Self-driven and accountable.
• Experience with database/system performance analysis.
• Understanding of cloud infrastructure technologies.
• Familiarity with networking and storage concepts.
• Comfortable with coding in Bash, Python, Ruby, or Perl.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Fluent in English (written and verbal).
