Manager – Financial Crimes Model Risk Consulting - Remote

Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager to join our Risk Consulting practice, focusing on financial crimes compliance model engagements for Financial Services clients.

In Short

• Lead and manage fieldwork for model validation and financial crime risk engagements.
• Perform technical validation of credit risk, market risk, AML/sanctions, and optimization models.
• Assess financial crime compliance programs, including sanctions and KYC processes.
• Apply data analytics and coding skills to validate and test models.
• Coach and mentor junior staff, providing structured feedback.
• Manage multiple projects, ensuring quality standards are met.
• Communicate findings and recommendations through reports and presentations.
• Collaborate with internal teams and client stakeholders.
• Support business development activities.
• Willingness to travel as needed (estimated <30%).

Requirements

• A degree in Accounting, Finance, Statistics, Economics, or a related field is preferred.
• 7+ years of experience in audit, risk management, or internal controls.
• Strong understanding of second-line risk functions and model risk management.
• Proven experience validating models related to credit risk and AML.
• Familiarity with financial crimes systems.
• Proficiency in Python, Alteryx, or other analytics tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage teams and mentor junior professionals.
• Professional certifications such as CPA, CAMS, FRM, or CFA are preferred.
• Prior experience in public accounting or consulting is a plus.
