Finance Manager - Berlin-Brandenburg Region - Remote

Overview

The client is a leading provider of services for the maintenance of underground infrastructure in Northern Europe, with a strong market presence across Europe. The German branch employs over 700 staff and generates an annual revenue of around 105 million Euros. The Potsdam location is the heart of the Berlin-Brandenburg region and offers exciting growth opportunities as well as the chance to actively shape processes. In this role, you will be responsible for financial management and accounting processes of a subsidiary and the newly established regional structure in Berlin-Brandenburg.

In Short

• Take on a key position with strategic and operational responsibility as Finance Manager.
• Actively shape financial processes and support the reorientation of the finance department from the start.
• Responsible for the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements according to HGB.
• Ensure proper and timely financial accounting (accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger).
• Oversee payment transactions and work closely with tax consultants.
• Lead the piloting of a new ERP system (Odoo) in the subsidiary.
• Drive the development and optimization of financial processes.
• Report directly to the managing director and support the management team in strategic and financial decisions.
• Contribute to the administration of the subsidiary and the region.
• Engage in a responsible position with significant scope for design in a company with flat hierarchies and regional focus.

Requirements

• Completed commercial studies with a focus on finance and accounting or equivalent commercial training with additional qualification, e.g., as a certified accountant.
• At least five years of professional experience in financial accounting, controlling, or financial management, ideally in a medium-sized company.
• Familiarity with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements according to HGB.
• Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel; experience in implementing and using ERP systems is advantageous.
• Structured and independent working style with strong analytical thinking and high affinity for numbers.
• Strong communication, assertiveness, and teamwork skills.
• Very good German language skills are essential; English skills round out your profile.
