In Short

• We’re looking for a Backend Engineer to help build and scale Remark’s platform.
• You’ll focus on designing, optimizing, and maintaining backend services, infrastructure, and data pipelines.
• This is a high-ownership role with flexibility to shape technical decisions.
• You’ll work on scalability challenges, API design, and data processing.
• We use a modern TypeScript-based stack, including NestJS, Prisma, Bull, LangChain, and GraphQL.
• Opportunity to learn and work with frontend technologies.
• Enjoy working autonomously and solving complex problems.
• Participate in code reviews and architecture discussions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related technical field.
• Must be able to commit to at least 3 days/week in person in our Boston, MA office location.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and JavaScript.
• Experience with backend frameworks for Node.js (e.g., NestJS or similar).
• Familiarity with databases and ORMs (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Prisma, etc.).
• Experience designing GraphQL or RESTful APIs.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects.
• Nice-to-have: Experience at a fast-growing startup or similar environment.
