We are looking for a Content Editor to join our newsdesk at KentLive. This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented senior reporter or content editor to step into a pivotal role directing a creative team of reporters.

• Organise and manage the publishing of fresh, engaging and accurate content.
• Brief a team of reporters to deliver great content including words, pictures, video, data, and interactives.

• Ensure website and social media channels have compelling content based on audience data.

• Support and guide the team through regular briefings and career development.
• Work flexible hours including weekends and evenings.

• Engage with underserved communities to tell important stories.

Requirements

• Senior qualified journalist (NCTJ or equivalent) with media law knowledge.
• Strong track record of engaging large audiences with accurate storytelling.
• Excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
• Supportive people management skills.
• Social media savvy with understanding of SEO and digital audience behaviour.
• Ability to create and edit accurate copy under tight deadlines.
