Associate Actuary - Variable Annuity Valuation - Remote

Overview

We are seeking an experienced actuary for an open position on the variable annuity valuation team. This person will help drive the overall success of the variable annuity valuation team and the company’s critical financial reporting obligations.

In Short

• Perform quarterly Stat, Tax and GAAP valuations using AXIS software.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for clients.
• Review and prepare SOX controls.
• Maintain and improve valuation models.
• Evaluate impacts of model updates.
• Develop automation tools for reporting and analysis.
• Collaborate with other departments.
• Perform ad hoc management reports as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Valuation experience using AXIS software.
• Analytical and problem-solving experience in insurance.
• ASA or recent FSA (considering pre-ASA with AXIS experience).
• Excellent spreadsheet and SQL skills.
• Ability to learn new software and concepts.
• Self-starter with independent and team working capabilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of variable annuity products preferred.
