Risk Adjustment Coding Specialist (CRC or CPC) - Remote

Overview

The Risk Adjustment Coding Specialist will ensure provider documentation is complete and supports provider code selection, working primarily in a remote capacity with occasional travel.

• Conducts chart audits for ICD-10 coding and documentation.
• Evaluates record consistency and adequacy in documentation.
• Identifies coding trends for escalation.
• Submits data on payor portals for incentive programs.
• Ensures compliance with federal and state regulations.
• Maintains knowledge of coding conventions and rules.
• Handles complex coding inquiries from internal and external sources.
• Collaborates with coding and documentation educators.
• Must comply with HIPAA regulations.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma; Associate’s degree preferred.
• CPC and CRC certifications required.
• Two years of experience with ICD-9-CM/ICD-10-CM coding.
• AthenaHealth EHR experience is a plus.
• Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills.
• Strong collaboration and resourcefulness.
