Overview

The Risk Adjustment Coding Specialist works in a team environment and is responsible for reviewing clinical documentation and coding using HCC (Hierarchical Condition Category) and M.E.A.T (Monitored, Evaluated/Assessed/Addressed, Treated) standards while adhering to coding guidelines established by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

In Short

  • Full-time position with day shift.
  • Responsible for accurate coding using ICD-10-CM.
  • Must be a Certified Risk Adjustment Coder (CRC).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Detail-oriented and able to multi-task.
  • Intermediate computer skills required (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
  • Participate in continuing education to maintain certification.
  • 100% remote work with potential local travel.
  • Adhere to confidentiality requirements.
  • Work collaboratively in a team environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Certified Risk Adjustment Coder (CRC) required.
  • Knowledge of ICD-10-CM coding and medical terminology.
  • Ability to identify coding discrepancies.
  • Must comply with Trinity Health policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work in stressful environments.
  • Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 20 pounds.
  • Ability to work with interruptions and perform detailed tasks.
  • Must adapt to changing work priorities.
  • Ability to spend majority of work time utilizing a computer.
