Overview

The Clinical Documentation Specialist Audit Coordinator provides remote support for clinical documentation integrity programs, utilizing advanced coding and clinical expertise to improve and ensure the integrity of clinical documentation.

In Short

  • Full-time remote position.
  • Responsible for auditing medical records and clinical documentation.
  • Trains end users on CDI system software and standards.
  • Communicates with healthcare team members regarding documentation.
  • Conducts chart reviews and queries providers for necessary documentation.
  • Maintains knowledge of applicable laws and regulations.
  • Develops educational content for documentation processes.
  • Strong critical thinking and communication skills required.
  • Must adapt to changing work priorities.
  • Experience in acute care inpatient clinical documentation preferred.

Requirements

  • Associate/Diploma Degree in Nursing or Health Information Technology.
  • 3+ years’ experience as an inpatient coder or clinical documentation specialist.
  • At least two years of acute care inpatient clinical documentation experience.
  • Preferred certifications include RN License, RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCDS, CDIP.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Experience with databases and presentation software preferred.
  • Ability to work independently in a collaborative environment.
  • Must possess integrity and the ability to inspire others.
  • Must be able to comply with health policies and procedures.
