Director / Sr. Director, Accounting - Remote

Overview

This position may be performed remotely with travel to the Boston area as needed. At Praxis we’re seeking a Director or Senior Director level individual to manage the Accounting group within the Finance team. This represents an exciting opportunity to lead the group and oversee the monthly and quarterly close process, internal controls compliance, and SEC reporting. In this position you’ll play a critical role in ensuring the Company’s financial and operational success as it plans for commercialization of its late-stage assets. The successful candidate will have strong leadership skills and be willing to step in and support various Finance processes based on fluctuating business needs. You’re a critical thinker who is resourceful and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

In Short

• Responsible for consolidated financial results by overseeing monthly and quarterly financial close processes.
• Oversee the Company’s internal financial control compliance (SOX 404(b)).
• Oversight of SEC process, including quarterly and annual reporting.
• Responsible for key technical accounting judgments and policies.
• Assist with commercial readiness, including build out of inventory and revenue processes.
• Collaborate with other teams to ensure relevant information is shared timely.
• Build cross-company relationships with key business partners.
• Identify and implement process improvements.
• Prepare and present quarterly results presentation to executive leadership.
• Support a high performing Accounting team.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting and an active CPA license required.
• 12+ years of related accounting experience required.
• Prior employment at a biotech/pharma company required.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SOX principles is required.
• Detail oriented self-starter with ability to think strategically.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to be flexible and continuously drive processes.
