Service Reliability Engineer - Remote

Overview

The Service Reliability Engineering team at PlayStation plays a significant role in delivering a great cloud gaming experience by influencing design and operational decisions towards the overall stability of the gaming service.

In Short

• Minimum of 9+ years working experience in Software Development, SRE, DevOps, and/or Linux Systems Administration role.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with coaching and mentoring other team members.
• Available to be scheduled for Tier 3 on-call.
• Proficient as a Linux Production Systems Engineer, managing large scale Web Services infrastructure.
• Development experience in Python, Bash, Go, Java, C++, or Rust.
• Experience with distributed data storage, NoSQL, data aggregation technologies, and traditional RDBMS.
• Knowledge of monitoring, alerting, and incident management tools.
• Experience with Kubernetes and/or AWS.
• Capacity planning, disaster recovery, and risk assessment skills.

Requirements

• Owning and driving ongoing improvements in Reliability and Scalability.
• Work closely with SRE Management to define critical metrics and processes.
• Influence the architecture and implementation of solutions.
• Mentor SRE staff and enable them for success.
• Act as a voice to represent SRE in the wider organization.
• Create and own projects from inception to implementation.
• Design platform-wide solutions and provide technical leadership.
• Demonstrate a high-level of organizational skills and initiative.
