Overview

The Technical Support Engineer will be responsible for managing and resolving challenging issues for Planet partners and customers, developing subject matter expertise with Planet products, and collaborating with team members.

In Short

  • Providing technical support to Planet customers, partners, and employees via various communication methods.
  • Meeting/exceeding customer expectations on response frequency and quality.
  • Building strong relationships with partner teams including Engineering and Product Management.
  • Troubleshooting complex technical issues and developing solutions.
  • Prioritizing product bugs and enhancement requests.
  • Participating in projects to improve customer experience.

Requirements

  • 2+ years experience as a Technical Support Engineer.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages: JavaScript, Python, Perl.
  • Familiarity with GIS applications like ESRI, QGIS.
  • Understanding of geo-spatial data and satellite imagery.
  • Familiarity with API development and relational databases.
  • Experience with ticketing systems like Zendesk or JIRA.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary.
  • Ability to work in the D.C. office 2 days a week.
