In Short

• Own and articulate the long-term technical vision and architectural strategy for key parts of Paddle’s platform.
• Define durable architectural patterns, interfaces, and platform capabilities.
• Initiate and drive large, complex programmes of work.
• Serve as the decision-maker on high-stakes technical choices.
• Develop deep product fluency connecting architecture decisions to business outcomes.
• Partner with the Product team to turn ambitious ideas into feasible plans.
• Elevate operational excellence through proactive and disciplined management.
• Mentor Staff and Senior engineers, promoting engineering excellence.
• Represent Paddle’s technical direction in executive forums.

Requirements

• Deep experience designing large-scale, distributed backend systems.
• Track record of leading technical strategy and delivering impactful initiatives.
• Comfortable as an architect and problem solver.
• Hands-on coding experience when necessary.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and simplify complex systems.
• Excellent communication skills across diverse audiences.
