Technical Program Manager - Remote

Overview

The Open Home Foundation is looking for a Technical Program Manager based in Europe to join our Home Assistant team. This team is responsible for the open development, maintenance, and enhancement of the Home Assistant platform; supporting new functionality aligned with our roadmap and enabling the wider community to contribute and innovate easily.

In Short

• Define, plan, and track projects and deliverables for Home Assistant fully in the open.
• Monitor resource allocation for the Home Assistant project.
• Coordinate across engineering, product, communication, and community departments.
• Keep public engineering roadmaps and tasks up to date.
• Identify and mitigate risks for project iterations.
• Drive and refine open development processes.
• Facilitate communication and ensure alignment among team members.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience managing software development projects.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Experience working in a remote, asynchronous environment.
• Experience with issue and project tracking tools, ideally GitHub.
• Strong technical literacy and understanding of dependencies.
• Proven ability to facilitate collaboration across distributed teams.
• Professional fluency in English.
• European residency required.
