Vice President of R&D Formulation - Remote

Overview

We are seeking a Vice President of R&D Formulation to lead and scale formulation efforts across the product portfolio of our supplement and cosmetic businesses at Nutrafol. This is a key executive leadership role, reporting directly to the Chief R&D Officer.

In Short

• Manage a team of formulators, scientists and technical experts.
• Design formulations and optimize them based on results.
• Define and execute the R&D strategy aligned with business objectives.
• Ensure compliance with FDA regulations and quality requirements.
• Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing Formulation team.
• Drive partnerships with co-manufacturers and ingredient suppliers.
• Establish KPIs for formulation timelines and product performance metrics.
• Serve as a thought leader for new formats and technologies.
• Present to Executive and Board-level stakeholders.
• Manage R&D budgets and resource allocation.

Requirements

• Ph.D. or equivalent in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field.
• 15+ years of progressive experience in R&D leadership.
• Proven leadership in developing and launching consumer products.
• Deep understanding of ingredient science and formulation processes.
• Experience in partnering with external partners and suppliers.
• Understanding of cGMP, FDA regulations, and cosmetic standards.
• Ability to work cross-functionally in a high growth environment.
• Strong commercial intuition and consumer-focused mindset.
