Developer - Automation Specialist III - Remote

Overview

This Automation Specialist will report to our Development Team Lead and will focus on projects using technology to improve service for our clients and increase efficiency for our staff.

In Short

• Technical lead on projects identified by management to automate work processes and improve customer service.
• Maintain scripts and code written by others.
• Manage daily job schedule and optimize throughput of production environment.
• Report regularly to management verbally and in writing.
• Interact with software vendors about potential automation projects.
• Communicate with IT group to ensure proposed solutions are consistent with network standards.
• Research and implement complex technology solutions.
• Deploy scripts and projects from development to production environment.
• Lead by example to accelerate adoption of standards and procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• A minimum of five years of experience building production code.
• At least three years of experience using Python, Java, or other programming languages.
• Familiarity with virtual machines, MySQL, and GitHub.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to document processes in a team environment.
• Curiosity and independent research skills.
• High level of critical thinking.
• Coachable and willing to learn.
• Ability to work with various APIs.
