Overview

The Coding Specialist II plays a crucial role in ensuring accurate coding of medical records, collaborating with healthcare providers, and maintaining high standards in documentation and billing practices.

In Short

• Perform CPT and ICD10 coding for complex medical encounters.
• Ensure coding accuracy of at least 95%.
• Provide feedback and training to physicians on documentation and coding.
• Maintain coding reference information and update on guidelines.
• Collaborate with Revenue Cycle staff to resolve coding issues.
• Perform reconciliations to ensure charges are captured.
• Meet established productivity and quality standards.
• Participate in educational meetings and roundtables.
• May perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• RHIA, RHIT, CPC, or CCS certification required.
• 0-2 years of relevant experience.
• 94% accuracy on coding tests.
• Preferred: Degree in Health Information Management.
• Preferred: Previous experience with physician coding.
